Fest Ki Masti

Fest Ki Masti –

When I called my best friend after getting admission in SRCC, the first thing she said was “yaar crossroads ke pass rakh liyo”. Unaware of the craze and excitement behind the fests I said yes.
Time passed and the first semester flew away. When classes resumed for the second semester, there was something different in the college atmosphere. The not-so-concerned societies became hyper-active, with meetings being conducted every now and then and tasks being alloted to the excited fuchas. And the sole reason was the upcoming fest season.
The first major fest was that of Hindi Sahitya Sabha, “Spandan’14”. With so many exciting events lined up,the fest was just a glimpse of what was in store for us.Next came the “Festival of youth sport 2014″organised by Sports Committee. This fest covered wide ranges like badminton, basketball, football, chess and many more and witnessed participation from various colleges across Delhi. The committee invited Vijendra Singh for the inauguration who won many hearts with his presence.
Along with FOYS, was “Business Conclave” which witnessed Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Shri P. Chidambram address the students of SRCC. I am sure this moment filled every SRite’s heart with pride.
After this, the registered societies lined up their fests one after the other. With so much happening around the campus, there was no point missing even a single day. Every fest left us asking for more.
With every society putting their best efforts, each day brought new masti and new activities. Street painting or street dance, bucket splash or treasure hunt, performance by MJ5 or the Urban Dance Crew, students got to enjoy everything.
With so much being already done, everyone looked forward to CROSSROADS 2014. Salman Khan or Ranbeer Kapoor, everyone wondered who is it gonna be this time. Amidst all the excitement, the final list came up..which saw big names from India as well as abroad. While the event lined up got mixed responses, I was optimistic that my first crossroads gonna be great.
And true to my expectations,Crossroads’14 was a huge success. With so many stalls and exciting fun events, the four day long extravaganza was no less than a carnival.Apart from the celebrities, Third Degree by The Computers And Mathematics Society drew everybody’s attention. 12 events spread over 4 days had someting to offer for everybody. Shaan or Sukhwinder Singh, Dualist Inquiry or Jennifer Renne, everything was just mesmerising.
After such an amazing experience, one thing is for sure, this is gonna be the best part of the year for me for the next three years.
I really enjoyed what about you???
